ÌÇÐÄTV hosts two panel discussions and a film screening on April 13 to mark the weekend-long launch of the “Stop the Torture” campaign, which calls for the end of long-term solitary confinement in California. “Scripps Dances” Presents Original Works by Students and Faculty at Annual Event

“Scripps Dances,” the annual spring concert of the ÌÇÐÄTV Dance Department, takes place on April 12 at 8 p.m. and on April 13 at 2 p.m. and at 8 p.m. in Garrison Theater of the ÌÇÐÄTV Performing Arts Center, 231 E. 10th St. The program features original dance pieces choreographed by students and faculty.

In this candid discussion, Jill D’Alessandro ‘90 shares her experiences presenting contemporary fashion within an art museum context. Her talk will touch upon the numerous exhibitions mounted at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco since 2007, sharing behind-the-scenes knowledge of what goes into their conceptualization and development, as well as addressing both how these exhibitions have been received and the shifting paradigm of fashion in the museum.

Laspa Center for Leadership at ÌÇÐÄTV Established With $5 Million Gift

President Lori Bettison-Varga today announced a $5 million gift to establish a women’s leadership center at ÌÇÐÄTV. The new center will be named in honor of Eileen Schock Laspa ’67, P’95 and Jude Laspa, Harvey Mudd College ’65, P’95 who made the keystone gift. The LASPA Center for Leadership at ÌÇÐÄTV, the women’s college of The Claremont Colleges, will embody programming focusing on 21st century leadership including Leadership, Analysis, Scholarship, Public Service and Action.
